1pm 1st July 2004
It's just a little air, a short space between two souls,
Where all things fall away into long forgotten holes.
Words have never found the way to express the things we want to show,
And time has gone away without revealing the things we want to know.
The lemmings have journeyed on to test the rocks below,
But all we seem to see is the distance between us grow.
Why should it be, these things we cannot fix,
Our shattered hopes around our feet in hopeless bits.
Words of kindness thrown out come back in spiteful fits
While a sorrowed heart cries out "It doesn't have to be like this!"
It's just a little air, but still a world away,
And it holds me back from the things I have to say.
